Ben Vorlich, Loch Sloy.
A full build, mixed pitching and aggregate path with drainage features. Originally this was 3 separate tenders but due to a lack of stone proceeded as only the first and third lots, this was roughly 400m of path.
Conditions over winter were very tough and what is usually a very wet hill got even worse, the evolved trod now channeled water virtually its entire length and resembled a burn more than a path for the majority of the contract.
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs mountains are very wet and coming up with drainage solutions was imperative, to this end much work was done pre construction to identify and deal with the water as early as possible, lots of temporary drains were cut to try to prevent the worksites becoming swamped.
