Ben Lui.
Ben Lui is a graceful peak, considered by many people to be one of the finest mountains in the Southern Highlands. It offers its best side towards Dalrigh and approaches from this side lead to either rim of its north-eastern corrie. The aim of this contract is to upgrade and repair sections of the existing path route leading form the burn crossing at the road end towards the lower Ben Lui corrie route. This section of path has no previous works attached to it however it is a popular access/egress route to and from the Ben Lui rim and due to multiple trods and water ingress causing braiding, it has slowly deteriorated to its present condition and is in need of full build upgrade and water management works.
The works required on the route are for an aggregate path and stone pitching with drainage features and side drains. There is also an element of path definition (light touch) works within the upper reaches of the path.
This section of works in total is approximately 730m in length.
